Electrolux redefines kitchen tables with style and functionality

In this new age of technology, our electronic devices run our lives. We constantly find ourselves searching for power outlets in order to keep our phones and tablets running. The use of portable chargers to ensure that our phones have enough power to last through long dinners is getting more and more prominent. This is what fuels Electrolux in designing the "Rendez-Vous".


The "Rendez-Vous" is the magnificent synthesis of a dining table, a kitchen, a universal charger, and a work of art. The concept is to create a surface that generates an "energy shield" powering everything that rests on it. This ranges from typical kitchen appliances, such as blenders and toasters to small necessities, such as cell phones and tablets. The "Rendez-Vous" also orchestrates an inductive cooking system across its whole surface that allows any part of the table to become a hot plate. Sensors throughout the table make this possible while eliminating burn hazards for children. In addition, there are modular drawers as well a a "virtual chef" that provides cooking supervision on the go. Although this product has yet to be fabricated, it provides a sneak-peek of what is coming and enables interior designers to be even more minimalistic when it comes to kitchen planning.
